| Induction Loops |
| An Induction Loop system enables those persons wearing a hearing aid within the area of the "loop" to hear more clearly by switching the aid to the "T" position. |
| It was originally intended to make it easier for a hearing aid user to use the telephone but with modern technology and some ingenuity they can now be found in many public places, Churches, Cinemas, Theatres, Schools, Ticket Offices and even in the home. |
 |
The induction loop amplifier is connected to a microphone, TV, PA System etc. and one of the greatest advantages is that the sound is coming to the user in a pure, undistorted form and the listener is not affected by the distance from the sound source. In the sheltered or residential environment many modern TV sets have SCART connections which permits a direct connection to the loop amplifier.
